• TV: FOX/TSN1/4 at 2:30P-6:30

• VENUE: The traditional 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway tri-oval. This race will not finish before dark; lighting is available.

• Special COVID considerations: Beyond requirements for masks and six-foot spacing, the other special COVID guidelines are not entirely clear from reading their website. Other than having the cars and spectators enter in a controlled manner, I think that, once on the grounds, a fan’s raceday experience will be much as before (grandstands and infield).

• THE EVENT: The Daytona 500 has been run each year here since its inception in 1959. Prior to that this annual NASCAR event was run on the ‘beach course’ which ran half of the sandy beach and half on the parallel paved road.
• Race distance is 200 laps = 500 miles; Stages: 65/65/70 laps
• The starting lineup has been determined by the results of the ‘Duels’, a pair of qualifying races held on Thursday, February 11.

• Most recent winner of a points-counting NASCAR Cup Series race (Phoenix Raceway, Nov 8/20): Chase Elliott, No. 9 Chevrolet
