BMW generated a great deal of excitement following the announcement of their Concept 4 Series Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe.

Concept 4 Series Coupe

Featuring BMW’s latest design innovations, images of the Concept 4 Series Coupe were released on the internet last month and the hype has hardly slowed.

The Concept 4 Series signifies the German automaker’s move toward their fourth-generation of sport coupes. The 4 Series will presumably take a similar role as the 6 and 8 Series as a coupe version of the 3 Series sedan.

The Concept 4 rolled onto the showroom floor looking as impressive as the initial images. The front-end carries traditional BMW styling, LED headlights and grillwork, reworked to highlight the wider and lower profile of the coupe, which is noticeably larger than the current 3 Series Coupe.

On the inside, BMW made a marked upgrade with leather and wood trim throughout. Tan leather seats and door inserts are bound with hand-stitched leather, something which makes the Concept feel as if it is a luxury exotic. The company could not confirm interior or production specifications on the Coupe, but it would be a welcome addition to the 4.

M6 Gran Coupe

The M6 Gran Coupe is BMW’s third variant of the M6. Paired alongside the Coupe and Convertible editions, the styling fits in well with the brand. Key styling features are a new front kidney grill and carbon-fibre rear diffuser developed exclusively for the Gran Coupe.

Offering upgraded looks and a TwinPower Turbo V8, the Gran Coupe is capable of zero-to-100 km/h times of approximately four seconds, thanks largely to its 560 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque.

The four-door sedan also makes use of a longer wheelbase for improved stability. Given the success of the M6 already, it should an exciting addition for improved handling, both on the road and the track.

While no specific date has been set, the company said the M6 Gran Coupe will be available later this year.
