THE EVENT:
• This is a 24-hour race starting at 12:00 noon (EDT) on Saturday.
• This traditional event is also part of the FIA World Endurance Championship
• This event is normally run in June to coincide with the date of the shortest night. This year, the race is being run in August and sunset is at 9:01P (3:01P EDT) and sunrise is at 7:03A (1:03A EDT), that is ten hours of darkness.

PREVIOUS RESULTS:

2. NTT IndyCar Series ‘Bommarito Automotive Group 500', World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway
• Race Date: Saturday, August 21, 2021
• TV: SV360 at 8:00P to 10:00

THE VENUE:
• World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Madison, IL
• 1.25 mi (2.012 km) asymmetrical oval, turn 1-2 (11° banking) is tighter than turn 3-4 (9° banking)
• This track was originally known as Gateway International Raceway. The name came from the fact that it is located on the opposite side of the Mississippi River from St. Louis and the Gateway Arch is visible from the track. It is also near East St. Louis, IL, the home town of the jazz trumpet-player Miles Davis.

THE EVENT:
• 260 laps = 325 mi (523 km)
• This Indy car race is combined with a NASCAR Truck Series race on the Friday evening.
• The first race held here was a CART race run on Saturday, May 27, 1997 one day before the traditional Indianapolis 500.

• Last year, INDYCAR staged a Saturday-Sunday doubleheader on the weekend of August 29-30.
